Meet Laura

I'm running for Langley City School Trustee because our community's public schools deserve strong local representation.

I hold a Master's in International Business and have an extensive consulting background across private and public organizations - work that sharpened my ability to set strategic direction, evaluate a plan, and ask hard questions. These are valuable skills a school board needs to manage public dollars and balance competing priorities.

As a parent of four and a Langley City resident, I have a direct stake in this community's future and its public education system. Concerns about our catchment school's capacity led us to choose an independent school. These concerns are why I believe this district needs more engaged, hands-on advocacy, not less. Good governance means representing every family here, not just my own. As Langley City grows, our schools need the resources to keep up.

Local voice. Local representation. Local priorities.

What I'm Focused On

Planning ahead for growth

Langley City keeps growing. Our schools have been burdened with over-enrollment, and portables have become temporary (and not so temporary) solutions. We can do better at planning and preparing for the future.

Protecting supports and programming

I've heard from families who have lost supports and programming that are essential to their child's success. Those supports matter.

Local representation

Langley City is where my kids are growing up. Our community deserves a strong, local voice on the Langley School District (SD35) board.
